DC to DC converters are essentially
high-frequency power conversion circuits that consist of inductors,
transformers, and capacitors, all of which are required to reduce or smoothen
out the switching noise in regulated DC voltages. Most DC to DC kits achieves
90-percent efficiency and are generally more efficient than linear regulators.
However, DC to DC converters are more complex and noisier during operation.
