Cloud Electric has a varied lineup of forklift test equipment from top brands like Sevcon, Zapi, Danaher, FSIP, and General Electric. Electric forklifts and other EVs in general are not immune to common issues like starting problems, short circuits, grounds, or open circuits. Diagnosing common electrical faults starts with the wiring diagram, but having the right test equipment will save more time and money.
Handheld test equipment is similar to automotive scan tools. It hooks up to your forklift, EV, or electric scooter to gather data of various parameters like motor voltage, current, battery volts, system temperature, and many more. Diagnostic test kits can also decipher/read/erase fault codes, engage diagnostic test routines, and display the service log history.
More importantly, test equipment enables digital adjustments of creep speed, lift speeds, accelerator delay, and other critical parameters. However, choosing test equipment is not as easy as it sounds. Typical diagnostic handsets are not universally applicable to a wide range of controllers or motors. When choosing test equipment, make sure to get the right handset number to match the controller unit.
